How to Plant Apple Seeds
Apple Tree
The apple tree is a perennial tree, and apples are among the most nutrient-rich fruits. It is often said that “an apple a day keeps the doctor away,” as apples help cleanse the body of toxins and sanitize it from germs.
Benefits of Apples for the Body
- Provides the body with vitamins A, B, and E.
- Supplies essential minerals.
- Detoxifies the body.
- Facilitates digestion.
- Treats and prevents bloating when consumed daily.
- Protects teeth from decay and can act as a temporary substitute for a toothbrush and toothpaste.
Given the numerous benefits and importance of apples in our daily lives, here’s how to grow apple seeds.
Materials Needed to Plant Apple Seeds
- Apple seeds
- Red soil suitable for planting
- Fertilizer (organic or chemical; organic is preferred). The amount of fertilizer should match the amount of soil, so small pots are recommended at this stage.
- A pot with drainage holes at the bottom for proper soil aeration
- Water for irrigation
Steps to Plant Apple Seeds
- Prepare the Soil: Place the planting soil in a large container, then mix it with fertilizer thoroughly.
- Fill the Pot: Fill the pot halfway with the prepared soil.
- Add the Seeds: Spread the apple seeds evenly over the soil in the pot.
- Cover the Seeds: Add the remaining soil over the seeds and press it down gently.
- Watering: Water the soil until it is fully saturated.
- Choose the Right Location: Place the pot in a suitable spot with adequate air and sunlight. Water the soil twice a day—once at sunrise and once at sunset.
Seedling Growth and Transplanting
After one to two months, you will notice small green leaves about 4 cm in length emerging. At this point:
- Carefully separate the seedlings, ensuring their roots remain intact.
- Plant each seedling in the desired location for the apple tree to grow. Dig a small hole in the soil, place the seedling inside, and cover it with soil and additional fertilizer.
Watering Schedule
- Water the seedling twice a day (sunrise and sunset) for the first month.
- After the first month, reduce watering to once a day, either at sunrise or sunset.
Over time, the small seedling will grow into a large, fruitful apple tree, God willing.
